To support the charity with the reliable and timely delivery of items to school partners across the East Midlands.
To support with stock organisation, including packing, labelling and sorting.
To support with picking and packing of items, such as school uniform, prizes, toiletry packs and pencil cases.
Specific areas of responsibility and key tasks:
Safely transports donations and supplies to partner schools across the East Midlands, following the road traffic rules at all times.
At LCH HQ loading and unloading items with care and attention
Planning efficient driving routes.
Ensuring the charity vehicle is roadworthy, through visual checks, and assisting in the planning of services and MOTs.
Ensuring your own vehicle is fully insured for Business Use and has roadworthiness.
Act as a friendly, smiley ambassador of the charity when visiting schools.
To communicate effectively with the volunteer team of uniform stars who wash, clean and iron uniforms, ensuring items are dropped off and collected in a timely manner.
Picking up and taking home young people who may struggle to otherwise be on our trips, always following the charity travel policy.
Assist in the stockroom when not driving, including sorting, organising and processing items such as school uniforms, toiletries, pencil cases, prizes and other essential items
Support the wider team with tasks as required.
To take part in supporting charity events and activities as required, being an active team member when all hands-on deck is required.
To complete any other reasonable tasks as directed by the CEO
We are looking to find a person that matches the following:
Essential:
Full UK driving licence with a maximum of 3 points
Use of own vehicle
Strong time management and reliability
A compassionate, kind and friendly person with a can-do attitude, who radiates positivity.
Able to lift and carry items safely
Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
Desirable:
Experience in a driving or delivery role
Good local knowledge of East Midlands roads
Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
Due to the nature of the position there will be occasions where work will need to take place outside of the normal working hours, the charity has a flexible working policy to support this type of work, with time off in leiu being provided.
