We're seeking compassionate and qualified professionals to provide one-to-one support for university students with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), helping them thrive academically and personally through tailored study skills and mentoring.
Key Responsibilities
Study Skills Support (SS-ASC):
Help students develop independent learning strategies
Improve academic writing, reading comprehension, and research skills
Support time management, organisation, and planning for deadlines
Encourage use of academic resources and referencing techniques
Create personalised action plans and track progress
Mentoring Support (SM-ASC):
Assist students in managing anxiety, stress, and transitions
Promote confidence, independence, and emotional resilience
Support with balancing academic and daily life demands
Help students navigate university systems and expectations
Foster realistic goal-setting and motivation
Essential Requirements
Undergraduate degree (Level 6 or above)
Comprehensive autism-specific training for higher education (e.g. NAS Modules or Optimum Training Course)
Meets DfE criteria for DSA-funded NMH roles (SS-ASC and SM-ASC)
Enhanced DBS clearance
Right to work in the UK
Be able to commute to location regularly or on occasion.
Desirable Skills
Experience supporting autistic individuals in education
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to tailor strategies to individual learning styles
Professionalism, punctuality, and confidentiality
Caseload management and accurate record-keeping
