Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial driving, as well as the ability to perform basic mechanical tasks related to the vehicle. The ideal candidate will also possess the ability to dig when necessary, ensuring that all aspects of the job are handled with care and professionalism.

Responsibilities

Operate vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Transport goods and materials to designated locations in a timely manner. Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and functionality. Perform basic mechanical maintenance on vehicles, including oil changes and tyre checks. Assist in loading and unloading cargo, ensuring proper handling techniques are used. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding schedules and any issues that may arise during transport.

Qualifications

Valid commercial driving licence (C licence) is essential. Proven experience in commercial driving is preferred. Basic mechanical knowledge is required to perform routine maintenance tasks on vehicles. Ability to dig or assist with manual labour when necessary is an advantage. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment. A commitment to safety and adherence to company policies at all times.
