THE OPPORTUNITY

As the product owner for durability, robustness and towing on-cycle delivery for one of JLR\'s core platforms, this role will be responsible from the start of programmes through to customer vehicle delivery. The successful candidate will lead a team of on-cycle programme engineers to deliver all programmes and model years from the platform they are responsible for.

This role will aim to enhance the customer experience through the design, development, measurement and balance of customer attributes for JLR vehicles. The Product Owner is responsible for managing Durability and Robustness Attribute team of programme lead engineers focused on one of JLR\'s platforms.

  • Ensuring all programmes across an architecture are delivered according to process using an AGILE operating model.
  • Supporting programme lead engineers with all Technical Issue resolution.
  • Ensuring all programme documentation is completed on time and to quality (inc; RMDV, Panel Charts, CAE & Physical Test reports, DVP, Customer Immersion Events etc)
  • Embedding good practice methods and lessons learned are communicated and practiced within the team
WHAT TO EXPECT

You will be responsible for:
  • Ensuring all programme lead engineers deliver Attribute Requirement targets and status by Gateway
  • Supporting the Attribute Team Leaders to ensure all technical issues are identified and resolved
  • Developing test and development activities to ensure Attribute sign-off and efficient delivery
  • Ensuring DVP makes use of good practices and maximises use of cost effective tools and techniques such as CAE
  • Understanding and progressing all open issues to achieve resolution
  • Identifying process improvements and methods development required for Attribute development
  • Developing and deploy the Attribute Strategy for forward model years and programmes
  • Ensuring all lessons learnt from all programmes are captured as best practice and communicated as necessary
  • Undertaking any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested
WHAT YOU\'LL NEED

Essential:
  • Leading & developing teams of people, promoting collaboration
  • Programme or project delivery using an AGILE way of working
  • Previous experience of problem-solving tools e.g. Root Cause Analysis, 8 Disciplines of problem solving, Design of Experiments and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Knowledge of whole vehicle engineering attribute delivery, working with cross functional teams Programme delivery within a whole vehicle attribute
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of Quality Operating Standards
  • Previous experience of delivery in durability or related fields
