The Duty Domestic Abuse Practitioner plays a crucial role in coordinating helpline and reception enquiries whilst providing initial assessment, support and advocacy for individuals affected by domestic abuse. This position involves contact with clients to assess their needs, identify safeguarding concerns, logging them on the case management system and connecting them with the appropriate team member. This role requires a compassionate individual who is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of those experiencing domestic violence.
Duties
Conduct assessments to determine the needs of clients affected by domestic abuse;
Administer and data entry onto the case management system;
Provide emotional support and practical assistance to clients during crisis situations;
Provide administrative support to the frontline team;
Facilitate access to the team;
Assist the team to maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress in accordance with organisational policies.
Assist the team to collaborate with other professionals and agencies to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to domestic abuse issues.
Qualifications and Abilities:
Working in a busy administration office;
Experience in a reception or office support role;
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to empathise with clients from diverse backgrounds;
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment;
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and reporting;
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable individuals and families.
