Duty Manager

(circa 35 Hrs per week)

Role Context

Howe of Fife Rugby Club are an ambitious community-based club, playing in National League 2. We are recruiting to improve and develop our clubhouse Team to support and enhance the growth of rugby in the Howe of Fife Community. We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic, and conscientious individual who can help us manage our extensive facilities. Leading your staff team you will manage the busy events programme and support the General Manager and Board of Trustees with new business and revenue opportunities including the Bar, Kitchen, Function Room and Cafe.

The role will include



- Manage your staff team

- Oversee the operations of the bar and function room, ensuring bar is stocked, kept clean, and equipment is in good working order

- Presenting and serving food for various Events and Functions

- Monitoring stock levels, ensuring appropriate stock rotation and storage

- Liaising with various community/customer groups who utilise the facilities

- Delivering excellent Customer Service, addressing customer enquiries and ensuring a positive customer experience

- Supervising a team of bar staff

- Cash handling, cashing up duties

- General Admin

- Supporting Events Management

- Supplier relations

- Supporting the Volunteer group events within Howe of Fife RFC

- Ensuring that all legislative requirements are met, including health and safety regulations, alcohol licensing laws, and club policies.

You will have:



Essential Criteria



- Previous experience within hospitality or relevant customer service roles and a knowledge of current standards within bar operations.

- Have or be willing to gain Personal Licence.

- Evidence of excellent organisational skills.

- Evidence of excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

- Supervisory or Management experience.

- Evidence of a pro-active approach to achieving results.

- Be able to take a flexible and adaptable approach to work

Desirable Criteria



- Experience in serving food

- Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 1)

Tasks will include:



Bar-

All aspects of operating a bar, including; Personal Licence, meeting legislative requirements, cellar management; serving customers; training staff when required; opening and securely closing the clubhouse; handling and processing money; stock checks; general cleaning duties. Managing your team to maintain a positive, clean, friendly environment. Additional tasks relating to the operations, as and when required.

Kitchen-

Support General Manager and Trustees in ensuring kitchen and staff always meet Environmental and Food Hygiene standards. Supervise kitchen staff in the preparation, presentation and serving of food to customers as and when required.

Function Room-

Support the General Manager and Trustees in promotion of function room with potential customers. Ensure function room and service is set up and meets customer requirements. Have a positive mind set when meeting customer needs and dealing with any issues.

General Admin -

Monitoring diary of bookings, events and key dates. Cash handling and cashing up duties.

Quality Assurance-

Stock checks, stock rotation, maintaining records, maintaining a high level of service.

HR Admin

- Ensure staff records including training are kept up to date.

The role will average 35 hours per week. Although there may be some weeks when hours may increase due to service demands.

Ad hoc duties will be required to fulfil the role. A full description of duties will be provided on application of the role if requested.

As you get to know us and settle into the role we fully expect that the role will offer you the opportunity to develop your role and responsibilities.

You may not have experience in all areas. Training and support can be provided to learn tasks where required. We also have club members or staff who might be able assist in certain tasks. It is your responsibility to ask when you require support.

Pay: From 29,000.00 per year
