plays a key role in the smooth running of the hotel by overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring excellent guest service, and supporting all departments as needed. Acting as the senior manager on duty, this role is responsible for handling guest queries, managing staff issues, and responding to incidents or emergencies in the absence of senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities:Operational Oversight
Act as the primary point of contact for staff and guests during your shift.
Ensure smooth operation of front office, housekeeping, F&B, and other departments.
Monitor standards of service, cleanliness, and presentation throughout the property.
Conduct handovers between shifts and maintain accurate shift reports/logs.
Guest Relations
Greet and engage with guests throughout their stay to ensure satisfaction.
Resolve guest complaints or concerns efficiently and professionally.
Support the front desk with check-ins, check-outs, and room allocations as required.
Staff Supervision
Provide leadership and support to team members across all departments.
Assist with training new staff and monitoring performance.
Ensure staff are adhering to service standards, grooming, and conduct policies.
Health & Safety / Emergency Response
Take charge of any incidents or emergencies (e.g., fire alarm, medical situations) during your shift.
Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and hotel policies.
Conduct regular checks of public areas, guest floors, and back-of-house areas.
Administrative & Reporting
Complete daily shift reports and escalate any major issues to senior management.
Monitor bookings, occupancy levels, and assist with last-minute reservations or room moves.
Assist with audits, stock checks, or cash handling as needed.
Skills & Experience Required:
Previous experience in a supervisory or duty management role within the hospitality industry.
Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong guest service orientation and attention to detail.
Working knowledge of hotel booking/PMS systems (e.g., Opera, Protel, or similar).
Preferred Qualifications:
Certificate or diploma in Hospitality Management (desirable but not essential).
First Aid, Fire Warden, or Health & Safety certifications are a plus.
Experience handling emergency procedures or night audit tasks.
