To assist with the effective, efficient management and day-to-day operation of the WSCC, including the gym, changing rooms, function rooms and MUGA.
To assist the manager of the WSCC in delivering a high-quality service of sports, fitness and community facilities based on the identified needs of the local community
To contribute to the marketing and business development activity of the WSCC
Staffing
To work with the manager to ensure that the WSCC is adequately and safely staffed and supervised at all times.
To supervise casual staff when acting as duty manager for the facilities
To work with the manager to ensure adequate levels of cover during opening hours. This may involve standing in at short notice for absent staff if necessary.
To bring any issues relating to staff to the attention of the manager.
To motivate and develop casual/freelance staff so they can maximise their potential and acquire new skills and professional experience.
To attend monthly trustee meetings alongside the manager or in their absence.
Bookings and marketing
Take bookings for the MUGA, function rooms and classes using the gym when acting as duty manager, and ensure all documentation is in place for those bookings.
To help to devise an attractive programme of classes and activities, set up timetables and respond to customer feedback on which services would be most popular.
To lead classes and group training sessions as agreed with the manager.
Financial resources
When acting as duty manager, to be responsible for all money received from paying customers and to ensure all payments are counted, recorded and banked according to policy.
Ensuring Quickbooks and Stripe payments are calculated and coded to the correct account.
To assist the manager with the preparation of financial reports, ordering stock and maintaining records of occupancy statistics as required.
When acting as duty manager:
To open and close the WSCC as required, ensuring the safety and security of the premises at all times.
To be a keyholder for the WSCC and a contact in case of emergency.
To carry out regular inspections to ensure all equipment, furnishings, fixtures etc are present and fit for purpose.
To bring any requirements for repair or replacement of equipment or stock (eg cleaning supplies, vending machine consumables) to the attention of the manager.
To supervise and/or carry out the cleaning of the WSCC to ensure that the premises are maintained to a high level of cleanliness at all times.
There are other responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
Minimum Level 2 Gym Instructor
Experience of working in the leisure industry.
