to take joint responsibility for the safe, efficient, and customer-focused operation of the Ice Rink at Nottingham Winter Wonderland. Working collaboratively as part of a small management team, you will oversee all aspects of the rink, from staff supervision and ice safety to customer service and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with fellow Ice Rink Managers to ensure smooth day-to-day running of the rink.
Lead and support rink teams including marshals, skate hire, and customer service staff.
Maintain excellent standards of health & safety, safeguarding, and emergency response procedures.
Ensure ice quality, skate hire equipment, and rink facilities are maintained to a high standard.
Manage rotas and team briefings to ensure full operational coverage.
Deliver outstanding customer service, handling queries, complaints, and incidents effectively.
Act as Duty Manager on shift, with full responsibility for staff, skaters, and public safety.
Liaise with event organisers, security, and first aid teams to coordinate safe and enjoyable operations.
Monitor operational performance and feedback to improve efficiency and customer experience.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Proven supervisory or management experience in leisure, hospitality, events, or visitor attractions.
Strong people leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support seasonal staff.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Confident decision-maker who remains calm under pressure.
Knowledge of health & safety requirements and risk management (training provided where needed).
Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
Desirable:
A background in event-related management.
Must be available to work throughout the Christmas period (we are only closed on Christmas Day). Shifts will be split fairly so managers receive 2 days off over Christmas.
