The ideal candidate takes pride in service standards making all customers feel important, and they can train the team to replicate their high standards. This is a hands on role where you will be responsible for hosting customers and managing the flow at peak times to ensure all selling space is maximised. This job involves weekend work, Friday and Saturday are the busy days and require management's presence, please consider this before expecting to finish at 5 and having the weekend off.
Experience in managing a cellar with focus on cask ales is advantageous.
Duties
Host and welcome all guests in the pub.
Manage all front of house pub operations, including staffing, stock control and rotas?
Lead and motivate and train the team to deliver the highest service standards in York.
Build a culture of high standards and atmosphere in the pub to gain customer loyalty and repeat visits.
Oversee food service and ensure compliance with food safety regulations to provide high-quality meals to customers.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout the pub, ensuring all health and safety standards are met.
Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional manner, ensuring satisfaction at all times.
Assist in front of house service, showcasing excellent drink preparation skills. ?
Qualifications
Personal licence holder.
Proven experience in bartending or within the hospitality industry, preferably in a pub or restaurant setting.
Knowledge of food safety practices and experience in food production is essential.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
Experience in kitchen management or cooking is an advantage but not mandatory.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by the business needs.
