Are you studying a Social Care related course and need work experience? Are you looking to get into a role working with young people but have no experience? Are you an enthusiastic, compassionate and dynamic individual? Do you want a role where you are seen, heard, valued and can gain relevant work experience?




We are looking for dedicated, passionate Duty Workers to be responsible for Looked After Children, Care Leavers and other young adults aged 16 to 21 years old who are referred into Young Persons Services.



We can offer full time, permanent roles but are also able to offer part time hours and temporary contracts if you need work experience. You can then turn it into a permanent role once you finish your studies.



No experience is required. Experience of working with young people is desirable but the ability to build rapport and encourage young people to make informed, good decisions is what is most important. Along with the ability to liaise with Social Workers and Leaving Care Workers in a demanding environment.



Locations - Trent Boulevard and Gedling.


Duties & Responsibilities




Build effective relationships with young people referred into and living at the service, whilst maintaining boundaries with calm and consistent professional practice. Assist with risk assessments for young people referred into the service. Be active in the referral process, book service visits for new referrals and lead the visit, be responsible for booking young people in when they move to the service. Encourage young people to problem-solve and identify coping strategies when experiencing trauma, distress, self-harm, anger. Deliver group activities promoting social engagement, healthy life skills and effective shared To work alongside Specialist Young Person's Workers to ensure tasks and objectives identified in support plans are achieved within agreed time Maintain all records in line with internal Framework reporting and recording To assist with completing tasks on support plans with young people. Complete welfare checks and resident at risk checks
