What role you will play in our team

The objective of EAME/AP Pipeline Integrity Assurance group in ExxonMobil Product Solutions (EMPS) is to help Refineries, Chemical Plants, and Terminal sites in the region manage the integrity of their pipelines on public domain in a consistent and effective manner, with latest tools and technologies available.

We are looking for an experienced Pipeline Integrity Advisor, with knowledge in In-Line Inspection technologies, Data processing and Fitness for Service Analysis. You will be the main contact for EMPS sites in EAME Region and guide them through EM Integrity Management processes. You\'ll liaise with Global Discipline Experts from ExxonMobil Technology and Engineering (EMTEC) and our Bangalore Technical Center (BTC) to get insight on latest technologies or for ad\'hoc support beyond your own expertise.

The role is preferably based in Hythe, Hampshire (UK) but can be based in Stanwell, Surrey (UK). It involves travels in UK and Europe

What you will do

Provide guidance and perform QA/QC checks on Pipeline Integrity assessment plans developed by sites engineering and operations personnel:

  • Selection of Integrity assessment methodology and execution plans,
  • Data validation, data integration, and anomalies Fitness for Service,
  • Assessment results response (repair plans) and reassessment intervals,
  • Updates of site\'s Integrity Management Plans (IMP).
Mentor/coach sites contacts on pipeline integrity management programs and initiatives: Water Crossing, Pressure Cycling Induced Fatigue, Leak Detection and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

Participate in Pipeline hazard identification & risk evaluation processes:
  • Pipeline Equipment Strategies (ES) and Risk Based Inspections (RBI),
  • Pipeline Hazard and Operability study (HAZOP),
  • ALARP Demonstrations and Process Safety Safeguards Health verification.
Actively participate in EM Pipeline Integrity Community of Practice (PI CoP).

Periodic visits to sites across UK and Europe to discuss initiative progress, review and assess implementation plans and provide guidance on path forward actions.

Support to internal assessment and state/federal regulators visits.

About you

BS or MS in Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, Petroleum Engineering (or equivalent).

Minimum 5 years of experience in pipeline integrity management working for an inspection or consultancy company (or equivalent),
  • The candidate should be able to demonstrate:
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills,
  • Intellectual rigor with innovative and analytical thinking,
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with internal & external contacts,
  • The ability to work with multi-cultural global team,
Knowledge and experience in at least 3 of the 5 areas below:
  • Main pipeline design codes and standards (BS, ISO, ASTM, API, NACE, ASME),
  • In-Line Inspection specifications (API 1163, POF) and field execution,
  • Pipeline threats and anomalies classification (corrosion, dent, cracks),
  • Fitness for Service standards (B31.G, PDAM, API 579, API 1183, API 1176),
  • Pipeline repair techniques and application (Composite, welded sleeves, etc).
