We are currently recruiting for a Early Help Development Worker. This role is a job share, based in both Hall Green and Selly Oak constituencies , Birmingham on a fixed term contract. Working 18.5 hours per week.

To achieve this aim you will be required to provide flexible, practical, documented family support as required by the Early Help Voluntary Sector Early Help contract in line with the Right Help Right Time framework.
The role is to support the Family Hubs initiative, specifically, the Best Start for Life, 0-2 years focus. You will need to focus on making contact with those professionals who work in the perinatal and postnatal professions to introduce the appropriate courses to those parents whilst they are working with them. These professionals include:
GPs
Midwives
Health Visitors
Others in that timeline for parents
Family Voices colleagues and parents
Parenting courses on offer need to focus on:
Understanding your pregnancy birth and baby (antenatal)
Understanding your baby (postnatal)
Footsteps
Stepping Stones
Approachable parenting
Baby and Us
This role requires the post holder to work with a multi-agency team of family support officers, community, voluntary and statutory services. As the role is focusing on children and young people`s health, wellbeing and education there will be a need to work closely with statutory, Birmingham Children`s Trust and community partners to help meet the aims stated above and implement structured change for the family.

About you
You will have experience working with children, young people and/ or families experiencing health, wellbeing and/ or social care difficulties.
You will have experience working with or alongside community, voluntary, statutory and/ or faith-based organisations.
You are an excellent communicator and understand how to adapt your communication style depending on the audience and their needs.
You are passionate about improving opportunities for children, young people and families through the Early Help service.
You will be accountable for reporting all work to support evidence-based practice that is audited.
You will have good time and organisational management skills with a team work ethic.
You will have experience of working collaboratively and have the ability to organise events for professionals and communities to attend.
You have the skill base to be able to work as part of a team that is not just locality base but is also city wide and work on your own initiative.
You will have the ability to independently travel across the city. Access to a car is desirable.
