Join Us in Making a Real Difference for Families Across Swansea

Are you passionate about empowering children, young people, and their families to thrive? Swansea Council is offering an opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking service that puts families first.

Why Swansea?

Swansea is a dynamic waterfront city nestled within the beautiful Swansea Bay City Region. With breathtaking coastlines, peaceful parks, and a buzzing cultural scene, it's the perfect blend of nature, community and modern city living--an inspiring place to live, work, and grow.

About the SPOC Team

The Single Point of Contact (SPOC) brings together two essential hubs:

Integrated Information Advice and Assistance Hub (IIAA)

Domestic Abuse Hub (DAH)

Our shared mission? To provide the right support at the right time so that families across Swansea can lead safe, healthy, and fulfilling lives.

Our Approach

Underpinned by the

Social Services and Well-Being (Wales) Act 2014

, we focus on working with people--not for them. We champion early intervention, prevention and partnership to ensure every child and family receives the right support before needs escalate.

How SPOC Works

When families, professionals, or members of the public reach out to SPOC, they're connected directly with a qualified Social Worker. Through meaningful conversations, we help identify what matters most, agree on personal outcomes, and connect people to services that meet their needs.

Safeguarding with Purpose

Following the

Wales Safeguarding Procedures

, we take a collaborative approach to protect children and vulnerable individuals. Keeping children safe is everyone's responsibility--and our multi-agency model ensures effective communication and strong partnerships across services.

Provide advice and guidance to parents, carers, professionals and members of the public by helping them explore and consider their personal circumstances, worries, complicating factors, existing strengths and wellbeing goals. Undertake proportionate assessments with families and those already supporting them in order to determine whether the needs can be met via early help services. Liaise with EHH's when transferring cases to their area of service. Supporting families and professionals to develop wellbeing plans which they can achieve with or without the assistance of others to prevent escalation. Support in the development of contextual safeguarding approach by helping families, professionals and members of the public to identify spaces/places and peer groups where they may be worries.

Maintain positive links with partner agencies.
