Early Years Practitioner
We are seeking a dedicated Early Learning and Childcare Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will play an active role in delivering high-quality early learning and childcare experiences, supporting children's wellbeing, learning, and development through play.
33.5hrs/week: Mon-Fri, Term Time.
Monday 8.30am-4.30pm
Tuesday-Friday 8.30am-3.30pm
Rate: 13.00/hour
Role & Responsibilities include:
Key Responsibilities
Create a warm, stimulating, and inclusive environment where children can thrive.
Build positive and trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
Observe, plan, and support children's learning through play and daily routines.
Lead group times and encourage independence, confidence, and social skills.
Contribute to planning, self-evaluation, and continuous improvement.
Maintain Learning Journals, care plans, and accurate records.
Support outdoor learning and meaningful play experiences.
Take ownership of a leadership role within the nursery.
Follow all safeguarding, health and safety procedures.
Relevant Qualifications
You must be educated to HNC level in Early Education and Childcare or hold SNNB/HNC/SVQ3 qualifications in Childcare/Education or equivalent and be able to evidence additional learning and knowledge of current practice and legislation in relation to Early Learning and Childcare.
PVG membership and SSSC registration (or eligibility to register).
Strong knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence, Realising the Ambition, and National Care Standards.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in an Early Learning and Childcare setting 3-5 yr. old (desirable).
This post is regulated work with children and is subject to the provisions of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants must be or agree to become members of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme.
