To work as an effective member of Patchwork Nursery Team, assisting in the delivery of a flexible, high quality early education and care centred service that meets the needs of young children and their families.
: Main Outcomes required
1. Planning:
Support the Nursery team to ensure that each childs' needs are met in relation to health and wellbeing, literacy, numeracy and all other relevant areas.
2. Service delivery:
Assist the Nursery Manager to ensure that a high quality service is delivered to service users by ensuring that all agreed plans are implemented efficiently and effectively. In particular:
a) To provide support to children within the setting
b) To assist Practitioners to provide help with meeting education, care and welfare needs
c) To undertake lunchtime supervision
d) To keep up-to-date with early years initiatives and developments and to participate in continuing professional development in line with Nursery and SSSC policy and procedures.
3.
Quality Assurance:
Support the Nursery Manager to ensure that appropriate quality, performance and bench marking criteria are developed, and applied as a means of managing and monitoring the team's performance.

Health & Safety:
All employees must follow Patchwork 2 to 5 Nursery's Health and Safety policies, standards, systems and procedures and must follow any additional Health and Safety instructions required by the Nursery Manager.

Other duties & responsibilities:
Undertake other duties appropriate to this role, and as required by the Nursery Manager or Nursery Management Committee to ensure appropriate outcomes are achieved.
Person Specification: Essential Criteria
Education and / or professional qualifications
A minimum of 3 Standard Grades (Level 1, 2 or 3) or equivalent qualifications or experience
Hold or working towards SVQ L2 in Early Learning and Childcare
Experience
Experience of working in an Early Learning and Childcare under 5's setting
Specific job-related knowledge
Basic knowledge of child development
Any additional job-related requirements
PVG membership - required to gain this in relation to working with children.
