Job Description

About Spark2Life:

Spark2Life is a London-based charity dedicated to preventing harm and promoting life.
We work with young people, families, schools, and communities across London and Kent to prevent youth violence, school exclusion, and exploitation.

Our mission is to give children and young people the tools, confidence, and resilience to make positive life choices.
If you're passionate about mentoring young people and helping them build brighter futures, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role:

As an Early Prevention Practitioner, you will provide early intervention and mentoring support to young people aged 11+ who are at risk of exclusion, exploitation, or offending.

You'll work 1:1 and in groups across schools, Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), and community settings, delivering sessions that improve wellbeing, build resilience, and promote positive change.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in youth work, education, or community development who is motivated to make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver 1:1 and group mentoring sessions for young people in schools and PRUs. Provide tailored support for those at risk of criminal exploitation or exclusion. Run assemblies, workshops, and awareness sessions addressing behaviour, mindset, and attitude. Deliver training for parents, carers, and professionals on early intervention and positive engagement. Maintain accurate case records using Spark2Life's management system (ChildView). Monitor and evaluate young people's progress and outcomes. Attend multi-agency meetings with local partners, schools, and professionals. Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of funded projects.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Experience working with young people (11-18), particularly those facing challenges or at risk of exclusion. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to build positive relationships and motivate young people towards change. Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Confident using IT for administration and reporting. Able to manage a caseload independently while working as part of a supportive team.

Desirable:

Experience working in schools, PRUs, youth services, or community programmes. Knowledge of issues related to youth violence, exploitation, reoffending, or trauma. A full UK driving licence and access to a car.

Benefits:

25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays. Access to counselling and wellbeing support via our Employee Assistance Programme. Ongoing training, professional development, and supervision. Team building and staff wellbeing days. Use of BrightHR system for easy management of leave, training, and expenses.
