This is an opportunity to join a forward thinking, highly motivated team of childcare practitioners to cover maternity leave in the baby room. There is the potential for a more permanent role for the right candidate.

Main Duties/responsibilities include:

Provide the highest level of care for the children within the baby room. Take responsibility for the development and education of the children from 0 - 2 years, setting up engaging indoor/outdoor play activities. Have a clear understanding of safeguarding and ensure the protection of all children within the setting accordingly Maintain the security of the children at all times and report hazards to the supervisor or manager. Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times undertaking cleaning duties as required Attend to first aid needs, as required Prepare and supervise drinks morning snacks & tea; serve and supervise lunch, wiping the tables and clearing away including disinfecting all chairs and tables and washing the floor. Form positive relationships with parents and assist with their enquiries. Answer the telephone in an appropriate manner and record/report details as necessary. Care for nursery pets as required Knowledge of early childhood development in under 2's and and understanding of childcare policies and procedures. Make and record observations of the children and contribute to the planning of play activities that are stimulating and specific to the needs and abilities of the children. Supervise and assist the children in clearing away activities and ensure that all the equipment is stored correctly.
The successful candidate will MUST be qualified to a minimum NVQ Level 2 CCLD or equivalent and have experience of working in a busy nursery environment.

The successful candidate must be prepared to work closely with the children and often in an outdoor environment and be flexible and reliable.
