Company description



We are a well established private Day Nursery that caters for children from 6 months to 5 years of age. The setting is located in the heart of the local park surrounded by well cared for parklands & nature. The facility is modern, clean & very reputable with a repeatedly good Ofsted.

The setting is currently registered to care for a maximum of 12 children per session within the baby room, 24 Children per session in our Oak Preschool Room and 10 children per session in our Chestnut 2 - 3 years room. Working together we aim to provide an environment that is happy, safe and stimulating and that carries a valued learning experience for all of our children that will stay with them throughout their lives, encouraging them to become independent and confident individuals, working in partnerships with parents, extended families, future schools and the community.

Job description



Level 3 qualification preferred, would consider Level 2 for the right applicant.

Purpose of the Role:

The role of the Nursery Practitioner is to ensure all children attending Victoria Park Hall Day Nursery receive high quality care, are kept safe and are provided with planned and stimulating play experiences which meet their individual needs and support all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

Main duties



1. To assist with the planning of the curriculum using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for guidance.

2. To help to set up the activities and experiences for the daily programme and to help tidy away at the end of the session.

3. Work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members.

4. To advise the Pre-school Manager of any concerns e.g. over children, parents or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.

5. To teach children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulating play experiences.

6. To ensure that children are kept safe and that you understand when to follow child protection procedures.

7. To support snack/meal times within the setting.

8. To actively participate at team meetings, supervisor meetings and appraisal meetings.

9. To attend core training to underpin your role effectively within the nursery, including all online training.

12. To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families, practitioners or volunteers, which may be acquired as part of the job.

13. To be aware of and adhere to all the setting's operational policies and procedures.

14. To ensure records are properly maintained and updated, e.g. daily attendance register, Safeguarding, accident and incident files etc.

15. To work across all rooms and with all age ranges.

15. To promote the day nursery to current parents and potential customers.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 20 per week
