West Berkshire Council is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Information, Data and Funding Officer to join our Education Services team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality early years services and work collaboratively with providers and stakeholders.

The Role



As an Early Years Information, Data and Funding Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the Early Years Team in the administration and management of early years funding. Your responsibilities will include:

To be the first point of contact for the Public, Early Years Providers and other organisations for information, advice and guidance on Registered Childcare, Early Education for children aged 9 months - 5 years Processing and verifying funding claims submitted by early years providers Maintaining and updating the records of providers and children, in relation to free entitlement funding Collecting, analysing, and reporting on data related to early years funding and the early years census Collaborating with internal teams to ensure effective information sharing and data management


In addition, you will contribute to the wider early years agenda by supporting the dissemination of information and providing administrative support for relevant initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

Experience working in an administrative role, ideally within an education or early years setting Strong data management and analysis skills, with the ability to handle large volumes of information Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritise tasks effectively Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team


Knowledge of early years funding mechanisms and entitlements would be advantageous, but not essential. A positive attitude and a willingness to learn are key attributes we are looking for.

Please note this role is fixed term for a year after start date - Time limited project
