Early Years Lead Practitioner Apprenticeship - Level 5 - Abacus 2000
Shoots Training are currently recruiting for a punctual, reliable and enthusiastic individual to join Abacus 2000 as a Level 5 Lead Practitioner for our baby room
Located within close proximity to the town of Ross-on-Wye, set in its own spacious grounds.

We follow the
Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
framework, ensuring that every child receives the best start in life through play-based learning, tailored development, and supportive guidance. Our passionate staff carefully plan activities to meet each child's individual needs, helping them achieve their early learning goals while having fun every step of the way.
From sensory play to storytelling, garden adventures to group songs, each day is packed with engaging experiences designed to spark imagination and build essential skills. We pride ourselves on creating a space where friendships grow, milestones are celebrated, and children feel truly valued.
We have 3 playrooms and spare room and have children from aged 9 months to 5 years and holiday clubs up to age 11years
Key Responsibilities:
Promote the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of children aged 0-5
Plan and deliver stimulating, age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Observe, assess, and record children's progress to inform planning and support individual needs
Ensure a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for all children
Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures in accordance with statutory guidance
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to GDPR and data protection policies
Support children with additional needs, ensuring inclusive access to learning opportunities
Work collaboratively with external agencies and professionals to implement tailored support strategies
Promote equality, diversity, and inclusive practices throughout the setting
Build and maintain positive relationships with families and carers
Communicate regularly regarding children's development, achievements, and well-being
Encourage parental involvement in the learning process and setting activities
Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a positive and professional environment
Mentor and support junior staff and apprentices
Engage in continuous professional development and reflective practice
Maintain accurate records, including observations, assessments, and safeguarding documentation
Support the day-to-day organisation of the setting, including routines, transitions, and events
Uphold all policies, procedures, and standards set by the organisation and regulatory bodies
Passionate about working with children.

Good organisational and time management skills
Requirements;
Level 3 Early Years Childcare Qualification is essential when applying for this role
At least 2 years experience in a similar role
GCSE's A-C/4+ in English Language and Maths, or equivalent i.e. functional skills Must be able to obtain clear DBS
Hours;
Abacus 2000 are open between the hours of 08.00-16.30 Monday-Friday
This is a term time only position but do expect staff to cover the holiday club, which all staff share
Working hours will be a minimum of 40 hours per week and shifts patterns will be discussed
