Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Nursery Manager to lead our team with vision, professionalism, and a child-first mindset. The successful candidate will ensure the highest standards of care, learning, and leadership, with a strong focus on the Curriculum for Excellence and Realising the Ambition: Being Me guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, manage, and inspire the nursery team to deliver excellent standards of early learning and care.

Ensure the nursery's educational practice reflects the Curriculum for Excellence and Realising the Ambition principles.

Develop and monitor learning environments that support holistic child development.

Promote and safeguard the welfare of children at all times, ensuring compliance with Care Inspectorate regulations and national care standards.

Build strong, supportive relationships with children, families, and staff.

Take responsibility for the nursery's self-evaluation, improvement planning, and inspection readiness.

Manage the nursery's day-to-day operations, including staffing, budgets, rotas, and resources.

Requirements:

BA in Childhood Practice, or equivalent qualification recognised by SSSC.

Experience in a nursery leadership or management role.

Strong working knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence, Realising the Ambition, and best practice guidelines.

Proven leadership and organisational skills.

Current PVG Scheme membership.

Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or eligibility to register.

Desirable:

Experience managing a similar-sized nursery (40+ children).

Experience leading Care Inspectorate inspections and quality assurance.

Knowledge of GIRFEC and effective family engagement strategies.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 33,696.00-46,800.00 per year
