Job Description

Full Time, 37 hours a week AYR fixed term for 9 months. Part-time applications will also be considered.





The Early Years Service is looking for a committed and enthusiastic practitioner to join our Early Years Portage and Inclusion Team on a fixed term basis to cover a maternity leave.



As a postholder, you will provide city-wide, high quality, effective support to all registered early years settings and schools on the inclusion of young children with special educational needs and disabilities to enable them to reach their potential. This includes a range of practitioner training and modelling good practices and strategies.



You will be involved in developing and delivering training to all providers of early years education on supporting children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, promoting their inclusion.



Due to the requirements of the role, you will need to have experience of working in an early years' foundation stage environment providing support for children with special educational needs and disabilities.



The Early Years Service is based at Southmead Children's Centre, Doncaster Road, Southmead, Bristol BS10 5PW. The role requires you to work across the city.

Please note that this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.

For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to.
