We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and creative Early Years Practitioner to join our exceptional team at a prestigious independent school in West Hampstead. This role focuses on supporting children aged 2-3 years old, nurturing their early development in a stimulating and caring environment. The ideal candidate will have a flair for fostering creativity, excellent communication skills with parents, and the ability to manage time efficiently in a busy and fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Support in Early Years Education: Assist in planning and delivering engaging and age-appropriate activities that support the development of children in key areas, including language, social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills.
Parent Communication: Establish and maintain effective and positive communication with parents, ensuring they are kept informed of their child's progress and any key developments. Offer advice and support to parents, creating strong partnerships to support the child's learning journey.
Creative Learning: Contribute to the creation of imaginative, hands-on, and interactive learning experiences that encourage children to explore, discover, and express themselves.
Observation and Progress Tracking: Observe children regularly to track their progress and development. Assist with the completion of development records and reports in line with the EYFS framework.
Classroom Support and Management: Help create and maintain a safe, stimulating, and organised classroom environment that promotes independent learning and positive behaviour.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the teaching team and support staff to ensure consistency and continuity in teaching and care across the Early Years setting.
Time Management: Effectively manage time to support the daily schedule, including preparing activities, assisting with mealtimes, and maintaining a tidy and organised environment.
Health and Safety: Follow all school policies and procedures regarding safeguarding, health and safety, and child welfare.
Essential Criteria:
Level 3 or Level 6 Childcare qualification (or equivalent) in Early Years Education.
Strong experience working with children aged 2-3 years old, preferably in an independent school or similar setting.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with parents and colleagues.
Creative and forward-thinking approach to early childhood education and development.
Good time management skills and the ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment.
A warm, caring, and approachable nature with a genuine passion for working with young children.
Knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Desirable Criteria:
Experience with using online learning journals or similar digital platforms.
Paediatric First Aid qualification or willingness to complete.
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
