The role of an Early Years Practitioner is to support the Room Leader in the Pre School room in providing quality childcare and education and ensuring the needs of all children are being met.
What you have to achieve:
High standards of care and education.
Compliance of all regulatory requirements stated in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Positive working relationships with staff members, parents and carers.
Individual and unique needs of all children are identified and met.
Level of Education
- GCSE in English and Maths grade C or above or an equivalent qualification
- Level 3 Childcare Qualification is essential.
Level of Training
- Food Hygiene- Desirable
- Safeguarding- Desirable
- Paediatric First Aid- Desirable
If you have not received the above training, employees of the Nursery will be able to complete the relevant courses to ensure the safety and well-being of all the children in our care.
Experience Needed
-Working in a childcare setting- Essential
Skills Required
-Suitable to care for children (a DBS will be completed)
- Team Player
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Honest, reliable and flexible with an enthusiastic approach to work
- Professional attitude and manner
- Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate excellent organisational skills
Hours of Work
The role is for 40 hours a week (8 hours a day excluding 1 hour lunch break, across 5 days Monday- Friday), the hours of work will vary day to day as employees follow shift patterns to facilitate the Nursery opening hours of 7.30 to 6.30, for example 7.30 to 4.30, 8.00 to 5.00, 9.00 to 6.00 etc.
