Job Overview

We are seeking a permanent early years practitioner who is dedicated and passionate, to join our team. This role will include supervising our wrap-around provision for maternity cover with the possibility of a permanent supervisory role within the charity. This role is essential in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children in our nursery. The wrap-around supervisor will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the breakfast and after school club for children aged 2-11 years, ensuring that all children receive high-quality care and early childhood education. This position requires strong leadership skills, effective communication abilities, and a genuine love for working with young children.

Duties

Oversee the daily activities and routines within the wrap-around provision, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for all children. Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programmes that promote learning through play. Manage a team of nursery staff, providing guidance, support, and training as needed to ensure high standards of care. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress, behaviour, and any concerns that may arise. Maintain accurate records of children's development and attendance. Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their social, emotional, and physical development. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as well as safeguarding policies.

Skills

YOU MUST HAVE A LEVEL 3 EARLY YEARS QUALIFICATION

Proven experience in childcare or early childhood education is essential. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Ability to engage with children at their level and create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Experience working with children in a nursery setting is essential. A genuine passion for child development and education. Ability to drive initiatives that enhance the learning experience for children in the nursery room.

We are offering 40 hours per week over 4 days, for 50 weeks (we close for two weeks at Christmas)
