About Us

Dingley's Promise Droitwich is a specialist nursery providing Early Years support for children aged 0-5 with SEND. Our centre offers a nurturing environment where children can develop essential skills through play. We also support families with information, training, and guidance, and offer advice to mainstream settings to help them become more inclusive.

This position is term-time only (39 weeks per year). Additional hours are available during school holidays (up to 9 days per year).

Your Role

As an Early Years Practitioner, you will work under the guidance of the Centre Manager/Deputy Manager to support the day-to-day running and ongoing development of the nursery. You will be part of a dedicated team delivering child-centred care and inclusive play.

General Duties:

Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming play environment. Set up and lead engaging, inclusive activities tailored to the needs of each child. Build strong relationships with families and professionals. Act as a Key Person to a small group of children, responsible for planning, observing, and assessing their progress.
Key Responsibilities:

Observe children during sessions and identify their interests and developmental needs. Use a variety of observation methods to document progress and share with parents/carers and colleagues. Engage in shared or reflective play to support learning and development. Apply specific teaching and learning strategies when appropriate. Support children's emotional wellbeing. Help parents understand and respond to their child's play and developmental needs.
Additional Responsibilities:

Be flexible, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Understand the value of play and deliver music, storytelling, movement, and play-based activities (training provided). Participate in ongoing professional development, including training courses and self-led learning. Provide occasional cover at other centres (by agreement). Attend and support fundraising events (up to 4 events annually on a voluntary basis; additional events paid). Act as a Key Person for allocated families, compile developmental records, and contribute to EHCPs, annual reviews, and EHCNA requests.
Person Specification

You should be:

Friendly and approachable, with the ability to support and listen to parents in a non-judgemental way. Committed to making every parent feel valued and involved in their child's journey. Supportive and empathetic to the concerns of families. A team player, willing to attend staff meetings and collaborate closely with colleagues.
You must have:

A Level 3 qualification in Children's Care, Learning, and Development (or equivalent), or be working toward it. Experience planning and delivering play activities tailored to individual developmental stages. The ability to communicate effectively with children of all abilities and backgrounds. An understanding of Health & Safety regulations relevant to early years care. Awareness of inclusive play materials and methods that respect gender, race, and ability.
