Purpose of the Job:
To undertake the learning, care and supervision of children in an early years setting Key Job Outcomes
To work with two, three and four year old children providing quality education and care
To act as a key person for a group of children providing an emotionally secure environment
To contribute to the development of children's education by assisting in the planning and organization of children's learning through play and appropriate learning experiences
To work directly with children in both individual and group situations to help develop children's welfare and learning
To provide an inclusive service meeting the developmental needs of all children
Keep records of children's learning that demonstrate clearly the progress that children are making
To work effectively and sensitively with parents sharing progress and key moments at the centre and at home
General Accountabilities
So far as reasonably practicable, the post holder must promote safe working practices to maintain a safe working environment for employees and service users. These are defined in the corporate Health, Safety and Welfare policy, other setting polices and code of practice

ESSENTIAL
(Must Have)
Knowledge & Experience
CACHE Diploma in Childare and Education (NNEB) or NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, or equivalent Early Years qualification.
Experience of working in an education or childcare setting.
Sound knowledge of the EYFS curriculum, the development needs of children under the age of 5 and the importance of play.
Sound understanding of child protection procedures and issues of confidentiality and information sharing when working with families.
Experience of successfully working in partnership with parents/carers.
Knowledge of equal opportunities policy, and a commitment to working with children and families in ways which are inclusive and anti-oppressive.
Knowledge of the needs of children with Special Educational Needs.
Abilities and Aptitudes
Ability to work collaboratively with team members, other agencies and community groups.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Basic IT skills or willingness to acquire them.
A creative and reflective approach to all areas of practice.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: 13.05-13.26 per hour
