At Puffins Childcare, we are passionate about providing an exceptional early years education to children aged 4 months to 5 years. As a Room Leader, you will play an integral role in shaping the lives of young learners by fostering their physical, emotional, and cognitive growth in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Leadership & Management:

Support the Deputy and Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring compliance with company policies, the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), the Children's Act 1989, and all relevant local authority and Ofsted requirements.

Team Development:

Lead and inspire a team of staff, using best practice models of leadership and management, while promoting continuous professional development in line with company standards.

Children's Well-being & Parental Engagement:

Ensure the safety, security, and overall well-being of every child, creating a safe and supportive environment where all children can thrive. Build strong, collaborative relationships with parents, recognising them as the first educators of their children and ensuring regular communication on their child's progress.

Curriculum Delivery:

Implement the EYFS curriculum, promoting learning through play, exploration, and creative activities tailored to children's developmental stages.

Individualised Support:

Monitor and assess the progress of each child, offering personalised support to encourage their individual development and growth.

Keyworker Responsibilities:

Oversee a group of children, ensuring the keyworker system is effectively implemented, with attention to their individual needs and progress.

Safeguarding:

Be vigilant in safeguarding all children in your care, following robust procedures to ensure their safety and well-being.

Training & Development:

Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay at the forefront of early childhood education practices.
