We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic

Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant

to join a welcoming SEN school in Barking. This role involves supporting young children with special educational needs in an Early Years setting, helping them to develop socially, emotionally, and academically during these crucial early stages of learning.

You will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to provide nurturing, tailored support in both one-to-one and small group settings. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood development and committed to creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Support children with SEN within an Early Years classroom setting Assist in the planning and delivery of age-appropriate, tailored learning activities Work one-to-one or with small groups to support communication, social skills, and early learning development Support children with personal care, toileting, and mobility where required Help prepare and organise learning resources and play-based activities Observe and record children's progress, feeding back to the class teacher Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals to support each child's development

Person Specification:

Experience working with children with SEN, ideally within Early Years (essential) A nurturing, patient, and empathetic approach Understanding of early childhood development and play-based learning Ability to work effectively as part of a team Strong communication and interpersonal skills Willingness to undertake further training and professional development
