Come and join our fabulous team in the Early Years and Childcare service at Rotherham Council.

We have an exciting opportunity available; we are looking to appoint an Early Years Specialist. The post holder will work across the borough with early years settings.

The post holder will lead, promote and develop effective early years pedagogy across the borough to ensure the quality of early years group care provision for children age 0-5 years is at least good and children are well prepared for the next stage of their learning.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting providers to implement a range of interventions and support measures. They will offer support for implementing the 0-5 Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) Tiny Talkers interventions and training.

The post holder will develop and deliver a range of early years training to providers.

They will support settings to ensure the provision meets the Ofsted requirements and Early Years Foundation Stage statutory requirements.

The role is outreach and will work across the borough giving direct support to providers through quality improvement visits; including attending staff team meetings, supporting cohort tracking and giving termly general updates.

They will need to have extensive knowledge and understanding on all aspects of early years and will need to maintain this throughout the role.

The post holder will oversee the outreach support for Childminders and Out of School settings across the borough.

The post involves outreach support to settings and therefore an enhanced DBS will be required. Some occasional and evening work will be required.
