About the Role
We are looking for a committed, enthusiastic individual to join our Early Years team as an
Apprentice Teaching Assistant
. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to begin a career in childcare or primary education while gaining a
Level 3 Early Years qualification
.
You will work directly alongside experienced teachers and support staff within our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), helping children to learn, play, develop key skills and feel safe, valued and happy every day.
We will provide full training, mentoring and ongoing support throughout your apprenticeship.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport for Children
Help meet children's personal, emotional and welfare needs.
Build warm, positive relationships to support confidence and independence.
Assist individuals, groups and whole-class activities.
Support children accessing play-based learning, routines and the EYFS curriculum.
Encourage positive behaviour, social skills and inclusion.
Observe and feed back to staff on children's progress and wellbeing.
Support for Teaching Staff
Help set up learning areas, activities and resources each day.
Assist with displays, tidying, and general classroom organisation.
Follow teacher plans and lead small group tasks where appropriate.
Support behaviour expectations in line with school policy.
Work collaboratively with the Early Years team and follow professional guidance.
Support for Curriculum, Environment & School
Prepare and organise resources and materials.
Support outdoor learning, sensory play, creative activities and phonics sessions.
Assist with educational visits, themed days and wrap-around care when required.
Contribute to a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
Promote and safeguard the welfare of all children in line with school policies.
Person SpecificationEssential
A genuine passion for working with young children.
Good communication skills and a caring, positive attitude.
Willingness to learn, train and complete the Level 3 Early Years qualification.
Reliable, enthusiastic and committed to supporting children's development.
Ability to work well as part of a team.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain).
Desirable
Experience working with children in any setting (school, nursery, wraparound).
First Aid qualification.
Understanding of Early Years or child development.
