A welcoming and well-established primary school in Carlisle is seeking a caring and dedicated

Level 3 Early Years Teaching Assistant

to nurture and inspire children in Reception and Nursery. This is a long-term temporary role with the exciting possibility of becoming permanent for the right person.

The Role

Every day in the Early Years brings the chance to spark curiosity, encourage discovery, and celebrate the little milestones that mean so much. Working closely with the class teacher, you will:

Support engaging, play-based learning across the EYFS curriculum Give personalised attention to children with SEND, both in small groups and one-to-one Record observations and progress, capturing those moments of growth and achievement Create a safe, inclusive environment where every child feels noticed, valued, and proud of who they are

A

Level 3 qualification

in Teaching Assistant, Childcare, or Early Years Experience working with young children, ideally within an Early Years setting A patient and flexible approach, with confidence supporting children with SEND A positive, enthusiastic outlook and a child-centred way of working Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a supportive team

Hours

Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm. Applications are welcome from both full-time and part-time candidates.

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
