Job Description

This inclusive and caring Specialist School in Kendal is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This role can either be part time or full time and is ideal for someone with a nurturing, patient nature and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

What you'll be doing:

Supporting children through play-based learning and structured activities Help to create a safe, fun and engaging environment where children feel happy and supported Encouraging social and emotional development through positive interactions Support the teacher in providing learning opportunities to ensure all children reach their potential Support pupils with SEND or complex needs Support with personal care Working 1-1 or in small group settings

The Ideal candidate:

Experience working with young children in a school or nursery setting(school, tutoring, childcare or similar) Put children's safety and wellbeing first Be highly motivated and committed Teaching Assistant qualifications or care background

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm (term time only) Full-time and part-time options available
Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
