To train as a Earthing Technician through a combination of in-house, on-the-job training and external based learning.
Responsibilities:
Support existing Design Engineers in the design and delivery of Earth Electrode, Lightning Protection, and Overvoltage Protection Systems across various projects nationwide.
Learn to independently conduct Soil Resistivity Surveys on-site in a safe and efficient manner.
Compile basic reports based on survey findings and collaborate with team members to ensure designs meet required standards.
Learn to aid in the production of AutoCAD drawings of proposed installations.
Assist in testing completed earthing systems.
Manage and maintain test equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Travel to various sites to provide on site testing and survey reports.
Assist the Design team in preparing computer-generated drawing packages.
Support the production of technical details using knowledge of engineering materials and installation techniques.
Participate in site surveys and assist in creating measured drawings.
Contribute to the production of Design Reports and presentation materials.
Assist in submitting documentation to other internal teams.
Travel to various locations across the UK, with the potential for overnight stays.
Promote and adhere to relevant I.T. standards, including notation, formatting, and electronic file management procedures.
Support the enforcement of Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures, including compliance with CDM regulations.
Maintain compliance with Company and National Policies and Procedures.
Perform duties to the best of your ability, demonstrating professionalism and a commitment to learning.
Develop knowledge of Lightning and Overvoltage Protection Systems, with the goal of achieving recognized industry accreditation.
Training & development
Complete training to acquire an ECS/CSCS card relevant to the role.
Complete necessary location & Avoidance of underground apparatus (HSG47) course.
Complete relevant Health and safety training for the role.
Take part in relevant Power system and Earthing courses
Be able to receive Baseline personnel security standard access.
Progress from initially starting as a Earthing Technician to be able to adapt to more technically minded roles over a predetermined timescale.
Skills, interests and qualities
As an Earthing Technician, you will need:
A full UK driving license.
Strong ability and aptitude in Science, Technology, Engineering and/or Math's subjects.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills across all levels of staff.
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and circuit diagrams.
A willingness to stay up to date with new technologies and industry developments.
Good teamwork and collaboration skills.
Awareness of electrical health and safety practices.
