Job Description
We are looking for an Ecologist / Sustainability Specialist to aid the Sustainability Technical Lead in creating and executing the Electrical and Transmission sustainability and net zero strategy, which achieves favourable environmental results and tangible advantages for the business.
Roles & Responsibilities
As the Ecologist, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting the ET business in fulfilling its environmental commitments under RIIO T2.
- Taking lead in developing and implementing tools, techniques, and approaches within the business to support the ET sustainability strategy.
- Communicate ET\'s sustainability strategy and performance to external stakeholders, representing ET at relevant external events.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of carbon measurement, net-gain, and waste management tools (such as SCIP).
- Take charge of stakeholder initiatives that engage contractors in net-zero construction and net-gain.
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Suitable scientific/engineering/economic based technical or professional qualification such as Degree, HNC or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience
- Thorough knowledge of environmental legislation
- Experience in net-zero construction and net-gain
