A leading UK-based manufacturer and retailer of garden products is seeking a commercially minded, data-driven
E-Commerce Trading Manager
to spearhead the growth and performance of its D2C ecommerce platform. This is a hands-on and strategic role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional digital experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a robust ecommerce strategy to drive revenue, customer acquisition, and retention.
Manage day-to-day trading operations of the ecommerce website, ensuring a seamless customer journey and optimal conversion rates.
Build and implement a seasonal promotional trading calendar aligned with business goals and product launches.
Oversee SEO and PPC initiatives, working collaboratively with external agencies to maximise return on investment.
Lead the creation and coordination of content and social media campaigns to enhance traffic and brand engagement.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Marketing, Customer Services, and Creative teams to ensure cohesive execution.
Analyse performance metrics and user behaviour using web analytics tools to inform trading decisions and identify growth opportunities.
Manage A/B testing and site improvement projects, ensuring functionality developments are aligned with user needs.
Keep abreast of emerging ecommerce trends, digital technologies, and shifts in consumer behaviour.
Requirements
Proven experience in managing a direct-to-consumer ecommerce platform, with a track record of delivering growth.
Strong working knowledge of CMS platforms, particularly Shopify.
Proficient with digital marketing tools, including Klaviyo.
Highly analytical, with experience using Google Analytics or similar platforms to track performance and inform strategy.
Strong commercial acumen and a results-oriented mindset.
Confident working both independently and as part of cross-functional teams.
Strong project management and stakeholder communication skills.
Passion for digital innovation and delivering best-in-class online shopping experiences.
Technical Proficiency
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
CMS management (Shopify, Magento or equivalent).
Experience in SEO and PPC campaign management.
Familiarity with A/B testing and performance analysis.
Experience working with external digital agencies.
