OPEN ONLY TO UWE STUDENTS
This is a part-time role (2 days per week) for 6 months (September-March) open to current UWE students.
You will support Project Co-ordinators in the Civic and Inclusivity team in Research & External Engagement (REE) on a range of projects which aim to ensure that all UWE students are able to succeed at university and beyond.
The main focus of work will be the UWE , UWE Bristol's positive action talent development programme for Global Majority students. You will support the EDI Project Co-ordinators in organising, promoting and delivering events, with a focus on engaging a diverse range of students. You will play a key role in helping to develop and increase our engagement with students through social media and through the creation of engaging and accurate newsletters, blogs and videos.
The role will provide an opportunity for you to gain experience in communicating to staff, students, the community and corporate audiences, across a range of platforms.
The Civic and Inclusivity team within REE will develop and deliver the University's civic and social impact ambitions, identifying opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration with regional government, civic and community partners. The team will develop and deliver projects and activities that create social value, inclusive growth and opportunities for all, enhancing student and staff experiences through community engagement, voluntary action, and enterprise-driven social impact.

About you:
You will be a current UWE undergraduate or postgraduate student with an interest in positive action work and in particular race equality and increasing the sense of belonging of our diverse community of students.
You will have an interest in engaging with our diverse community of students and staff through digital content and in person events and discussions.
You will be competent in managing social media platforms and creating engaging content, using design software such as Canva and scheduling platforms such as Hootsuite. You will have some experience or interest in running and promoting activities and events for students.
You will have an interest in evaluation and analysing data to assess the effectiveness of our campaigns and engagement.

This is a part-time, fixed-term post for 6 months running from September 2025 until March 2026, working 15 hours per week. Hours worked can be flexible, but you will need to be able to work on Wednesdays as many of our activities take place on Wednesdays. You must be a current UWE student for the duration of the internship.
UWE Bristol is a campus-based University and it is important for our success and the delivery of an outstanding experience for our students that our campuses are dynamic and vibrant places to learn and spend time. This role is therefore campus based with some opportunity for remote/home working.
The University's normal practice is that new appointments will be made at the starting point of the grade.
We are unable to provide sponsorship for this role under the Home Office Skilled Worker visa route. As we are unable to sponsor anyone requiring a visa for this role candidates must therefore be able to provide their own right to work in the UK.
