Job Description

We are looking for local talented actors to join the cast of our Historical Gems Walking Tour in Edinburgh - now including a dram of whisky and haggis, neeps and tatties as well as fudge tasting!

This is a character led, fully scripted walking tour journeying through Old Town Edinburgh. Our detective character takes groups on a thrilling adventure through our historical city, uncovering hidden history, unknown gems, and surprising secrets that most people wouldn't even notice...

This is a one-person show; all eyes on you. We're looking for strong performers who are very confident and can comfortably embody the character of our eccentric, witty and enthusiastic detective.

You'll need great outside projection, engaging storytelling abilities, and be a confident people manager. You'll also need to be happy working alone, and outside - whatever the weather!

The first round of auditions will be a self-tapes submission. The second, an online meeting. Rehearsals will be plotted throughout July over the course of 3-4 weeks.
We are looking for:

Characterful, expressive, and dynamic individuals. Engaging storytellers. An interest in history. Good outdoor vocal projection. A local accent would be ideal, but others will be considered.
Please note: The tour will run at 1pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays and the duration of the tour is 2 hours. Terms and hours are flexible.

Job Types: Part-time, Freelance, Zero hours contract

Pay: 20.00-90.00 per day

Expected hours: 2 - 6 per week
