  • Co-ordinating with Production and Design to keep titles on schedule
  • Liaising with Sales, Rights, Marketing and Publicity to provide copy and sales material on time, support campaign plans and champion your books
  • Maintaining day-to-day relationships with some key authors and their agents, being their go-to in-house contact and communicating information on all stages of progress on their books
  • Writing, reviewing and proofreading excellent copy for covers, AIs and catalogues
  • Taking responsibility for metadata and coding on your own titles, and some others as requested, on Biblio, ensuring it is current, complete and commercially appropriate
  • Reading and reporting on submissions, taking an active role in editorial meetings, creative brainstorms and discussions of potential acquisitions

We are seeking:
  • Demonstrated editorial experience in children\'s publishing, ideally as part of a fiction list
  • Passion and enthusiasm for helping to create the books that kids love to read, as well as a good up-to-date knowledge of the children\'s fiction market (5+ - YA)
  • Excellent author care and communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent proofreading and copy-editing skills
  • The ability to write strong sales copy and blurbs
  • The ability to prioritise and use own initiative, juggling several projects at one time
