MRCP(UK) Central Office is responsible for the examination and assessment of physicians in training, on behalf of the Federation of Royal Colleges of Physicians. For more information, please visit www.mrcpuk.org.


We are seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated Editor within the Examinations department to work alongside a small team of editors that produce all the MRCP(UK) written and clinical examinations.


The post will provide a skilled editor with the opportunity to make significant contributions to the development of postgraduate medical examinations. The successful candidate will be proficient in IT, comfortable adapting to new processes and able to work to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:



Creating and maintaining examination content and material within an online database Creating and maintaining examination schedules Editing and proofreading examination content and material to the MRCP(UK)'s rigorous standards Managing examination questions within an online database, assisting with the implementation of new software and processes Acting as a central point of liaison with key stakeholders and provide support to Examining Board and Scenario Editorial Committee members

Experience:



Educated to degree standard or equivalent Demonstrates the ability to edit and proofread copy and proofs, following house style and detecting and marking errors to be corrected Demonstrates the ability to rewrite and restructure copy according to purpose, style of publication and audience Demonstrates excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks, meet tight deadlines and produce high-quality work under pressure Proven experience of using online databases Adept at IT, including excellent keyboard skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enthusiastic and adaptable to change
