About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Secondary Editorial and Delivery team in the Education Division, creating high-quality, market-leading resources for secondary school students.

In this role you will be responsible for taking print and digital projects, for Secondary English and other subjects as required, through the production process, working with authors and other editors, and design and digital teams, to ensure that high-quality, market-appropriate products publish on time and within budget.

Responsibilities include:

  • using market knowledge to improve the market focus of designated products
  • applying editorial skills, judgement, and best practice to ensure that products are accurate, appropriate, accessible and published to schedule and budget
  • building and fostering good working relationships with authors
  • helping to manage and support freelance editors
  • monitoring schedules, budgets and spend on designated projects
  • liaising with colleagues in other departments to ensure that print and digital projects are worked on efficiently, and to ensure that product is market appropriate
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.

To be successful in this role you will also have:

Essential:
  • High levels of literacy and numeracy
  • IT literate with experience of Microsoft Office particularly Word and Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
Desirable:
  • Experience of the UK secondary school market; an understanding of trends in education
  • Knowledge of publishing processes
  • Experience of educational publishing.
