Job Description

The School of the Physical Sciences is looking for a passionate and experienced School Education Operations Manager to join our small but dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and action the daily tasks of education activities across the School of the Physical Sciences (SPS). This includes running the Degree Committee and Faculty Board for the Faculties of Earth Sciences & Geography and Physics & Chemistry, including overseeing the Academic Career Pathways promotions process. You will manage a small team of dedicated administrators, ensuring the smooth progression of students from admission through to graduation.


As a key player in our team, you will develop and implement education policies, provide specialist advice to senior academic colleagues, and handle complex cases with sensitivity and tact. Your leadership will drive continuous improvement and enhance the student and the team's experience.


This role offers an opportunity for both hands-on support of the people and processes that support the student journey, and to drive and develop policy improvements for core Faculties and Committees within the School.

Key Responsibilities:


Oversee core education operations and activities across postgraduate and undergraduate education. Manage and support a team of administrators. Develop and implement education policies and procedures. Handle complex student cases and provide specialist advice. Develop and maintain strong networks with central teams. Drive continuous improvement and service delivery. Oversee the Faculty public and internal-facing information (e.g. websites and intranet) and ensures all information published is accurate and up to date.
