Manchester Metropolitan University stands as one of the UK's most inspiring higher education institutions, providing passionate and dedicated individuals the chance to make a significant impact on local, national, and international communities. We have been a pioneer in education since our origins in 1824. A TEF Gold institution and ranked 11th in the National Student Survey (NSS) for student satisfaction by The Times, we are now the first university in the UK to introduce a dedicated Education Technical Professional (ETP) promotion pathway.
The pathway champions technical and technology education delivery and innovation. It recognises the outstanding contribution our technical colleagues play in driving transformational education and outcomes for our students. The ETP promotion pathway provides a clear framework for technician development. ETPs work collaboratively with our academic colleagues to provide a comprehensive education to shape a learning environment when our students and colleagues can flourish.
You will contribute to the delivery and innovation of technical and technology education in multimedia production. This critical activity spans two of our schools, the School of English and the School of Digital Arts (SoDA). You will be supporting students who are looking for careers in journalism and the creative media industries. You will initially focus on multimedia journalism and future media production to deliver key production process and practical skills aligned to industry standards.
The role involves overseeing state-of-the-art media facilities that support specialist sectors such as podcasting, video journalism, and areas like sports and music journalism. You will focus on technical and technology education for production processes including the creation and delivery of content across diverse platforms streaming, mobile, and traditional channels including TV and radio broadcasting. Central to the role is ensuring access to the latest production techniques and technologies, such as pre-visualisation and virtual production, to drive innovation and enhance media practice. You will play a crucial role in the development of the University's Digitally Enhanced Learning, Teaching and Assessment (DELTA) Strategy to expand our digital learning offer.
