You'll deliver educational psychology services to schools in your region, working creatively and systemically through consultation, direct work with young people, and staff training to support lasting change. At Keys, we prioritise professional development and research, encouraging regular CPD and exploration of relevant interests.


This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape and grow our educational psychology service, enhancing the support we provide to children and teams. You'll work closely with our Principal EP, Assistant Psychologists, and clinical colleagues such as SALTs and OTs.

Clinical



Deliver educational psychology services to schools within your designated region. Provide specialist input on assessment, teaching, and special educational needs. Use a consultation model to help staff implement strategies that support emotional well-being and positive outcomes. Monitor progress and adjust interventions to ensure effectiveness. Support schools in identifying and addressing systemic needs with evidence-based approaches. Respond promptly to safeguarding concerns, following procedures and legal requirements. Offer psychological support during critical incidents, such as bereavement or crisis situations.

Training, Supervision, and Consultation



Deliver tailored training on trauma-informed approaches and other psychology topics, including follow up support to embed practices in schools. Provide training on evidence-based interventions such as emotional literacy, social skills, and resilience building. Share insights from projects to promote best practices across internal and external teams. Develop training and workshop materials for your region and other Keys Group services. Offer consultation and advice to colleagues on psychological assessments and interventions. Provide guidance on child trauma, attachment, and recovery across services. Supervise and support assistant psychologists and other team members. Deliver reflective supervision to Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) to support their well-being. Offer ad hoc supervision to school staff to promote emotional resilience. Support the setup and delivery of peer supervision in schools and within the clinical education team

Policy And Service Development



Contribute a psychological perspective in clinical service development meetings. Support planning and delivery of services through agreed project work. Advise on areas where psychological needs should be addressed and help implement changes. Maintain effective communication with local authorities, NHS services, and other key agencies.

Evaluation And Research



Stay up to date with research to support evidence-based practice and the Keys Connect model Help coordinate outcome measures across the service With approval, lead or support research on the care and education of children with complex needs Offer guidance on research design and methods to colleagues from other professions

About you



Essential:

Postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology -- a minimum of a Master's degree if qualified before 2007, or a completed or in-progress Doctorate for those qualifying after.

Essential:

An understanding of the UK educational system and of legislation, national guidelines

Essential:

Experience of providing consultation, training, support and supervision

Essential:

Ability to assess and manage risk and make complex judgements about risk issues

Desirable:

Previous experience of working with independent special schools.

Due to the nature of the role, it is necessary for the appropriate level of criminal record disclosure to be undertaken (DBS).
