Job Description

We are looking for exceptional talent to join our team. We are seeking an experienced EHS Advisor to supplement our Compliance team. The role involves working full-time hours, Monday to Friday. You'll be based at our head office in Ossett, West Yorkshire, but you'll be travelling across the UK for site visits and meetings, so flexibility is required.

We're offering a salary 35,000 to 45,000 and a car allowance of 5,000 per annum.

Fast forward to the present, and we've evolved into a robust company of 120 employees over two core divisions. Our client list boasts large organisations like Pets at Home, Haribo, and Marks & Spencer.

Today, our nationwide presence encompasses a diverse range of projects, from small-scale retail ventures to expansive refits. Our expertise spans electrical, mechanical, refit, and roofing solutions.

The Role - What will I be doing?



As an EHS Advisor, you will ensure KEY complies with environmental regulations and maintains the highest standards in environment, health and safety. You will support the Compliance Director in developing, implementing, and monitoring policies and procedures that promote a safe workplace and minimise environmental impact.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Environmental & Sustainability Management



Support project teams in implementing the Environmental Management System (EMS) in line with ISO 14001. Carry out environmental site inspections and audits, providing clear reports and follow-up actions. Advise on site environmental issues, including waste management, pollution prevention, ecology, noise, dust, and carbon reduction. Prepare and maintain environmental documentation such as CEMPs, environmental risk assessments, and waste management plans. Track and report environmental performance indicators including waste, recycling, energy usage, and incidents. Liaise with regulators, clients, consultants, and local authorities as required. Deliver environmental training, inductions, and toolbox talks.

Health & Safety Support



Assist project teams with implementing H&S procedures and safe systems of work. Support site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with UK legislation including HASWA 1974 and CDM 2015. Assist investigations into environmental or safety-related incidents. Promote positive environmental and safety culture across all construction activities.

What will I need?



At KEY everyone works as a team to achieve quality work delivered to our clients, this is something we look for in all our people and is essential in this role.

Essential



Degree or equivalent in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related discipline. Mid-level experience in an environmental role within construction, ideally within retail fit-out or refurbishment. Strong knowledge of UK environmental and construction legislation. Practical understanding of on-site H&S requirements and collaboration with H&S teams. Full UK driving licence.

Desirable / Working Towards



NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or working toward). ISO 14001 internal auditor qualification (or willingness to obtain).
