The EH&S Manager will document and implement programs to deliver Health and Safety compliance for the Client account. The programs must assure systematic plans for daily management and improvement with effective reporting and progress review methods. This position will provide guidance and support to site management, program owners and site personnel across multiple facilities to ensure compliance with H&S requirements through the design, organization, implementation, and maintenance of policies, procedures and programs.

The EH&S Manager must understand local requirements along with the Critical Performance Indicators and Key Performance Indicators related to customer expectations in this area. The objective is to deliver Facility Management at each site in a manner that protects all personnel and property while avoiding loss and providing business continuity. Regional Manager must be available to travel up to 50% of the time.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement comprehensive EH&S programs and initiatives that comply with regulatory requirements and promote employee participation and accountability. Examples include contractor safety, isolation of hazardous energy, chemical management, and emergency procedures, among others.
  • Ensure continuity and sustainability of Safety Management System that support the identification, elimination, and control hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage using safety standards, best management practices, and analytical techniques.
  • Lead a team of Safety and Contract Risk Management Professionals and ensure that appropriate site and business specific programs are implemented, documented and standardized to effectively and efficiently meet CPI/KPI\xe2\x80\x99s and legal requirements. Programs must comply with regulatory, client and company requirements.
  • Develop and conduct training in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Ensure proper documentation of training.
  • Assist sites in performing job safety analysis and developing safe work procedures.
  • Conduct safety inspections and program audits and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collect data, provide information and reports as needed to support the Client\xe2\x80\x99s compliance programs
  • Participate and conduct compliance audits across sites.
  • Ensure incident investigation, root-cause analysis, recordkeeping, and follow-ups are conducted. Make recommendations for prevention based on results of investigations.
  • Monitor recordkeeping and reporting performance for Risk related requirements and objectives.
  • Develop and implement ISO management systems, such as ISO 1400.1 and 4500.1 across multiple sites or regions to ensure compliance with ISO standards and achieve/maintain ISO certification.
  • Provide guidance and support to site managers and EHS teams to establish and maintain ISO-related documentation, policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to verify ISO compliance and address any non-conformities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate ISO certification and maintain ongoing compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations across all sites
  • Monitor, assess, and report on environmental performance indicators, such as air emissions, water usage, waste management, and hazardous materials handling.
  • Develop and implement strategies and programs to minimize environmental impacts and promote sustainable practices.
  • Coordinate environmental monitoring activities, including air quality testing, water sampling, and waste management.
Qualifications:
  • Significant experience working with Health and Safety compliance and management systems preferably within facility operations. Safety experience in manufacturing, laboratory, warehousing, or maintenance operations is highly desirable
  • Experience in Risk or related field as it relates to facility management.
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred. Knowledge of safety requirements, fundamentals of safety education, industrial safety, risk management, and the application of data automation to the safety function highly desired.
  • Has knowledge or is willing to learn regulatory requirements that apply to facilities management
  • Good work ethic and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well with others at all levels and across organizations. Must be able to get results through others without having direct reports.
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to speak in front of a large audience and deliver in person and remote EHS training effectively.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications and software such as MS Office programs, Outlook, etc.
