With a growing portfolio of projects and a commitment to excellence, we are seeking a proactive Health and Safety Manager to lead our health, safety and risk management practices.

Job Overview



As the Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety policies and procedures across our operations. You'll ensure compliance with current health and safety legislation, drive continuous improvement in our safety culture, and provide training and guidance to staff and subcontractors across all sites.

This is a hands on role based at our offices in Willington but will involve regular travel throughout the north east.

Key Responsibilities



Develop and maintain company health and safety policies and procedures. Conduct risk assessments and site inspections on projects. Ensure compliance with HSE legislation, regulations, and industry best practices. Investigate accidents and incidents, preparing detailed reports and recommendations. Deliver health and safety training and inductions for employees and contractors. Maintain up-to-date records of incidents, inspections, and training activities. Liaise with external regulatory bodies and ensure all permits and documentation are in place. Provide strategic input to senior management on safety performance and improvements.

Essential Requirements



NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety. Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in heating, construction, or M&E sectors. Thorough understanding of UK health and safety regulations. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure. Full UK driving licence.

Desirable



Membership of IOSH (CertIOSH or higher). Experience managing safety across multiple projects / sites. Knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015. Environmental & Quality experience. Social housing experience
