The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical and instrumentation systems, with hands-on experience in maintenance, fault-finding, and automation. This is a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and continuous improvement of our thermoplastic production facility.
You'll work closely with production and management teams to maintain plant performance, lead automation projects, and support our move toward a more data-driven, efficient, and modern operation.
Responsibilities
Perform planned and reactive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation systems.
Troubleshoot and repair issues related to PLCs and automated process equipment.
Lead plant improvement and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Interpret and update technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
Calibrate and verify instrumentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
Manage engineering spares and critical components, maintaining accurate records.
Support the Plant Manager with day-to-day operations and deputise in their absence.
Provide excellent internal customer service, supporting production and technical teams.
Maintain accurate maintenance records aligned with ISO 9001 and 14001 systems.
Promote a strong safety culture and contribute to continuous improvement activities.
Experience & Qualifications
HNC or higher qualification in Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering (or related field).
Minimum 5 years' experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems and equipment.
Proven ability to fault-find, repair, and optimise automated and PLC-controlled systems.
Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
Familiarity with control systems, instrumentation, and calibration procedures.
A proactive, detail-focused approach with a commitment to doing things right first time.
