Eia & Planning Manager (renewable Energy)

Glasgow, United Kingdom

Job Description

EIA & Planning Manager - Solar and Battery Storage
Glasgow Office Location - Hybrid Working Pattern in Place
Salary Dependent on Candidate Experience + Wider Package
Piper Maddox are pleased to be working alongside a leading international renewable energy company with a key hire into their project development capabilities. Our client has various business units dedicated to different sections of a renewable energy project lifecycle, culminating in a company that has the capabilities to cover every element of a successful independent power producer.
This company has presence across multiple different continents and are able to offer significant stability, both in terms of project pipeline and finances. They are funded internally meaning that they are able to remain dynamic and make quick decisions. This has resulted in a global development pipeline of over 10GW.
This role would sit within their UK operations where they have built up a strong team across land, planning, development, and engineering. You would be contributing to a pipeline of Solar, and BESS assets from inception through to the RTB stage. There is also scope for onshore wind in the near future. This pipeline totals over 2GW.
Our client is looking to add someone to their in-house EIA/Planning capabilities where you will be working on the planning and environmental consenting process for utility scale renewable energy projects. Responsibilities in this role include:
> The preparation, management, and submission of planning applications within the Scottish and English planning framework.
> Hands on and overseeing planning application work. This role would have a mixture of direct preparation of planning statements/documentation as well as the management of external planning consultants.
> Representing this company within the public consultation stages, liaising with local and national planning authorities, as well as participating in statutory consultation events.
> The preparation and management of Environmental Impact Assessments within projects if needed.
This position requires a proven track record and experience in TCPA applications, EIA, S73, NMA considerations, and S36 applications.
You would be joining up with a tight knit and collaborative team within a hugely stable and exciting international group dedicated to the clean energy transition. This would be a good role for someone with a solid grounding in planning & EIA looking to either take their next career step in development, or someone in a consultancy looking to transition to the "clientside".
Logistics wise, this role would start off as an initial 12 month contract for maternity cover, with the plan being a permanent position at the end of this period.
